There is a shop named DAISO where most items are 100 yen (tax not included), that is, they are surprising low prices. This shop is a national chain and also known by most Japanese. The items are various such as daily goods, foods, and even furniture. There are also DAISO original convenient goods and so on. I actually visited there this time because I got the information that DAISO Harajuku branch shop is popular among foreign tourists.

DAISO Harajuku is along Takeshita dori (Takeshita Street) that is in front of Harajuku station on JR Yamanote line. When you go into this street, you get to the shop in 1 minute on foot from the station. Takeshita dori (Takeshita Street) is the most popular sightseeing spot among foreign tourists. In addition, this street is also a shopping town where Japanese young culture is condensed, such as;
-Young guys in a cutie fashion like Kyary Pamyu Pamyu who is now a worldwide artist,-Clothing shops which deal with pop-color fashion items, furthermore, ‘sweets’shops where the most popular food is a crepe, and so on.
Now, I’m going to introduce DAISO Harajuku where the most foreign tourists visit along Takeshita dori (Takeshita Street).

This is an entrance. The pink billboard fit in the cute and pop atmosphere of Takeshita dori (Takeshita Street).

The shop has 4 floors included B1, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Each floor is not so wide but the building is bigger even among the branch shops in Japan.

As soon as entering into the entrance, I felt that the number rate of foreign tourists is higher than what I had supposed. The tourists can enjoy shopping at ease in this shop because of the multiple languages like a picture above. And it’s said that some items were tax-free. I think it is absolutely unusual that you can buy tax-free at DAISO even in Japan.

There are various maccha sweets. To my surprise, whichever you choose, 1 item costs you 100 yen. (※There are the items to rarely cost you more than 100 yen.)

Of course you can buy the symbol of ‘Wa’ in Japan, such as chopsticks and so on. Especially, it seems that these chopsticks (the picture above) are popular items of foreign tourists.

This is a disposable compress bag. I think this is a very convenient item for who want to buy a lot of souvenirs or backpackers who stay short days in Japan.

In this way, you can buy Japanese sweets or convenient items when you visit DAISO Harajuku, moreover, each item is only 100 yen. Along Takeshita dori (Takeshita Street) there are many shops to buy fascinated goods including cutie fashion items as souvenirs. Here in DAISO, however, there are many other items which I want to recommend as souvenirs. If you are planning to go to Takeshita dori (Takeshita Street) to see the sight, why don’t you visit here once?
